We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Accountant to lead accounting operations for a U.S.
-based commercial real estate portfolio. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and hands-on experience managing property-level financials for private equity or family office–owned real estate assets. You will ensure accurate, timely delivery of monthly financials, CAM reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and reporting packages while driving process improvements and performance excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end commercial real estate accounting.
Review and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including balance sheets, income statements, and variance analysis.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, rent roll updates, and bank reconciliations.
Ensure accuracy and timely completion of CAM reconciliations and operating expense analyses.
Collaborate with U.S. asset management and property management teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and reporting requirements.
Manage monthly close schedules and deliverable timelines across multiple properties and entities.
Ensure data accuracy within App Folio, Yardi, or MRI , maintaining ledger integrity and consistency.
Implement standardized accounting processes ensuring GAAP and client-specific compliance.
Train, develop, and performance-manage team members to support quality and growth.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/CPA/CMA preferred .
5–10 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting
Strong knowledge of U.S. commercial real estate accounting (retail, office, industrial).
Hands-on experience with App Folio, Yardi, or MRI .
Strong command of accrual accounting, CAM reconciliations, and property financial reporting.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working directly with U.S. property management firms or clients is a plus.
