Position Summary

As a Produce Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Produce and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

What You'll Do
  • Supervise the team in Produce and Floral area to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club.
  • Communicate the goals of the department, executing company programs, adhering to policies and being an advocate for the member, the associate, and the company.
  • Work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club is meeting the members expectations.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of floor and backroom operations, ensuring the produce area meets company standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance.
  • Manage seasonality in terms of item volume, product knowledge, processes, and prioritize time between areas.
  • Collaborate with associates ensuring the team has resources to do their job effectively, sharing knowledge and training the team.
  • Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Use hand‑held technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality; adopt new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Drive business results, maintain operational excellence, ensure profitability, and keep a neat, clean, and safe work area.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, accurate audits, compliance standards, and proper product display.
  • Teach and train the team for high effectiveness and identify growth potential, providing necessary skills.
  • Encourage career growth for associates and source new talent internally and externally.
  • Analyze information, monitor progress, and identify improvement opportunities to support operational goals.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethics through training and support.
  • Lead and participate in teams by sharing resources, information, and tools to meet customer needs and business priorities.
  • Respect individual differences, foster inclusion, and build trust and strong relationships.
  • Model integrity, ethics, and accountability, supporting the company’s regenerative goals.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 to $31.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 months experience working in a fresh produce department or 6 months experience supervising a team.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to complete all required training and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising a team.
  • Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).
