Position: Physical Therapist-Outpatient Full Time ** $5,000 Sign-on Bonus**

Physical Therapist – Outpatient Full Time

Salary / Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000 Sign‑On Bonus

Location:

Gurnee, IL.

Hours:

7 a‑7 p Monday‑Thursday, 7 a‑5 p Friday. No weekend or holiday shifts. Clinicians may work up to 10‑hour shifts and are required to cover at least two evening shifts per week.

Job Overview

As a licensed physical therapist at Northwestern Medicine, you will provide direct patient care, teach, and lead departmental process improvement. You will model our mission, vision, and values, and comply with the Code of Ethics and all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate NM values: teamwork, patient‑first, integrity, and excellence.
  • Project a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Provide accurate, timely patient and customer information; use effective service‑recovery skills.
  • Maintain primary responsibility over patient plan of care in collaboration with PTAs.
  • Collaborate across departments, communicate effectively, and acknowledge contributions.
  • Use organizational resources efficiently and manage schedule to complete tasks on time.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cost‑reduction efforts.
  • Demonstrate clinical skill in evaluation, modality selection, and re‑evaluation per guidelines.
  • Document all encounters in EMR, meet documentation standards, and support payer reimbursement.
  • Provide educational materials tailored to patient understanding.
  • Participate in committees, special projects, and marketing activities.
  • Build professional relationships with health‑team members and external partners.
  • Create a respectful communication culture, accept feedback, and adapt schedule as needed.
  • Support education: in‑services, journal clubs, new‑hire orientation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Active Illinois license.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy.
