Job Summary

Under the assigned supervisor, you will alleviate or stabilize mental health dysfunction for selected clients, helping them adjust to home, community integration, and maintain living stability. You will provide therapeutic services to individuals, families, or groups regarding psychological or emotional problems. You may also oversee the coordination of clinical interventions of team members.

Responsibilities
  • Administer various assessments, including program‑specific clinical tools to identify behavioral and mental health symptoms and diagnoses, and review results to evaluate client needs.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards in keeping with professional affiliations and demonstrate strength‑oriented practice.
  • Provide comprehensive and initial diagnostic assessments of all referred clients using interviews and recognized criteria.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans using accepted intervention techniques to address areas of assessed need.
  • Plan and administer therapeutic treatments such as behavior modification and stress management to assist patients in controlling disorders and other problems.
  • Discuss progress toward goals regularly with clients, encouraging feedback and ownership of outcomes.
  • Ensure medical rule‑out of symptoms and coordinate approach with medical and other providers serving the client.
  • Adapt clinical methodology to client needs using evaluation tools and feedback to ensure services meet changing needs.
  • Integrate all services by serving as a central point of communication for mental health related services, supportive services, and counseling.
  • Maintain comprehensive client files with progress notes, assessments, quarterly and closing reports, court reports as needed, and testify in court when required.
  • Provide community education services, consultation as assigned, and crisis intervention when needed.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with staff and other programs, both within and outside the agency.
  • Represent the agency at court hearings and Child and Family Team meetings, and attend required staff meetings.
  • Monitor client progress and re‑assess functioning min. every 6 months using standard instruments and DSM‑V as required.
  • Take a protective role in overall service by ensuring integration of client‑other providers and including them in service planning.
  • Conduct relaxation exercises, peer counseling groups, and family counseling during clinical therapy sessions.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications Education
  • MA/MS degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field; licensure completed.
Experience
  • 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure
  • LCSW, LCPC, or LCSW/LCPC eligibility.
Other
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Proficient in Word‑processing, email, and internet applications.
  • Ability to handle stress and effectively de‑escalate crises.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent written and verbal clinical skills.
  • Ability to respond immediately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
  • Ability to maintain mental and physical alertness and appropriate energy level.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and decision‑making skills.
  • Team‑oriented mindset.
Work Requirements

The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach, balance, stoop, talk, or hear. He/she may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
