Responsible for preparing plans and cost estimates for roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and other projects as necessary; provide construction management, inspection and field measurement/quantity take-off of ongoing projects including the documentation and preparation of reports. This is a professional position responsible for the plan review of public and private projects and initiation, design, and supervision of construction of public improvements.

• Civil Engineer I
  • Assists in preparing engineering plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Performs basic design calculations under supervision
  • Supports field inspection and collects project data
  • Assists in preparing cost estimates and technical reports
  • Coordinates with project team members and contractors
• Senior Civil Engineer
  • Leads and manages civil engineering projects from concept to completion
  • Prepares and reviews engineering design, specifications and reports
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Oversees field inspections and resolves design or construction issues
  • Coordinates with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project success

• Entry Level Civil Engineer I – At least 1 year of full‑time or combined internship experience performing civil engineering work tasks;
  State of Illinois Engineer Intern License or ability to obtain within 1 year;
  Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related curriculum; valid driver’s license.
• Senior Civil Engineer – At least 3+ years’ experience performing comparable civil engineering duties;
  State of Illinois Professional Engineer or current progress toward PE required;
  Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related curriculum; valid driver’s license.
