Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Exemplary interpersonal, communication, technology, organizational, and clerical skills.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
  • Helps maintain the health office under the direction of the nurse.
  • Assists with collection and maintenance of health records and data.
  • Perform clerical duties such as data entry, duplicating, filing, and preparing files, folders, rosters, emergency cards, health protocols, etc., utilizing appropriate technology.
  • Assists with weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all school and health-related issues.
  • Performs delegated tasks related to medications under supervision of school nurse.
  • Assists with vision and hearing screenings, if properly certified.
  • Provides minor first aid within training in first aid.
  • Maintains open communication with the Registered Nurse and Certified School Nurse, relaying messages as directed to teachers, other school personnel, and parents/guardians to meet the health needs of pupils.
  • Contacts parents/guardians or those responsible for children in case of serious injury, illness, or other health related problems as directed by the nurse.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Superintendent of Education, School Nurse or School Principal.
