We are seeking an experienced Fabric Sourcing Manager to spearhead sourcing operations for a luxury designer brand renowned for its high-end women’s wear collections. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in luxury textiles, vendor management, and sustainable sourcing practices, ensuring our collections meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabric Identification & Development
In-depth knowledge of fabric properties, from luxury silks to sustainable textiles, tailored to client and market needs.
Expertise in handling fabrics such as raw silk, silk dupion, pure silk, silk crepes, Japanese crepe, poly crepe, matka silk, brocades, jacquard, silk georgette, silk chiffon, Maheshwari silk, handlooms, tissues, lame, nets, and satins.
- Local & Global Sourcing
Extensive experience in procuring fabrics from domestic markets and international suppliers.
Managing global and domestic vendor relationships, negotiating procurement deals, and ensuring timely, cost-effective sourcing.
- Vendor Management
Building and sustaining vendor networks, negotiating pricing, and ensuring alignment with sustainability and quality standards.
Overseeing contracts and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Fabric Costing & Procurement
Expertise in costing, procurement planning, and budgeting for diverse production cycles.
- Collaboration & Leadership
Coordinating between design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure seamless operations.
Ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met for new collections.
- Fabric Printing & Dyeing
Overseeing fabric treatments, printing, dyeing, and production follow-ups to maintain high-quality standards.
- Inventory & Operations
Managing fabric inventory and warehouse operations.
Implementing efficient inward and outward fabric processes.
Qualifications
- Graduate/Postgraduate from NIFT or NID.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–12 years of experience in fabric sourcing, preferably within Luxury/Couture fashion.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and leadership skills.
- Proven track record of working with diverse fabrics and global sourcing networks.
