Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Functional Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end functional testing, ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of cloud-based solutions. This role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on testing experience, and a solid understanding of networking concepts to validate complex system integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze system requirements independently and design comprehensive test cases using standard test design techniques
Review test cases with technical consultants and test managers, incorporating feedback as required
Upload and manage test cases in Jira Xray test repository
Execute test cases for planned releases and ensure proper documentation with test evidence
Identify, log, and track defects in Jira; perform retesting after fixes
Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams for integration testing activities
Participate in defect triage meetings and ensure timely closure of defects
Maintain and update regression test suites for new features post-release
Coordinate with automation teams to label and manage automated test cases appropriately
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews
Engage in knowledge transfer sessions to stay updated on new features, technologies, and requirements
Key Requirements
Strong experience in functional testing with the ability to work independently
Hands-on experience with Jira and Xray or similar test management tools
Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies
Strong knowledge of defect lifecycle and test management processes
Solid understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, firewalls, and basic network troubleshooting
Experience in testing applications involving network dependencies or cloud environments is highly preferred
Ability to perform integration and end-to-end testing across systems
Technical Skills
Test case design and execution
Defect tracking and reporting
Regression and integration testing
Basic understanding of APIs and system integrations (preferred)
Familiarity with cloud environments and security concepts (added advantage)
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
