Role Overview :
The Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality technical assistance to internal employees. You will be the "boots on the ground," troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can translate complex technical jargon into simple, actionable steps for non-technical users.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-User Support:
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for all desktop, laptop, mobile device and printer issues.
- Deployment:
Set up, configure, and deploy new hardware (PCs, Macs, tablets, and peripherals) using imaging tools like SCCM, Intune, or Jamf.
- Maintenance:
Install and update business software, security patches, and OS upgrades.
- Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, LAN) and hardware failures.
- Asset Management:
Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software licenses.
- Documentation:
Create and maintain "How-To" guides for the internal knowledge base to empower users to self-solve common issues.
- Security:
Ensure all endpoints meet company security standards (Antivirus, Encryption, MFA).
Required
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience as Desktop Support Engineer.
Technical Skills and Requirement:
- Operating Systems:
Proficiency in Windows 10/11 and macOS; basic Linux knowledge is a plus.
- Software:
Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Networking:
Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
- Directory Services:
Experience managing users and groups in Active Directory or Azure AD.
- Certifications:
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator (Associate).
