Exadata (CellCLI , dcli, patchmgr, ExaCLI),OEDA, Optach, GI, DB, ADG, RMAN, OEL, Firmware and Network, OEM-Fleet, ELSA

Responsibilities:

- Apply updates to various components of the Exadata stack like DB, GRID , DB Nodes OS (ELSA), Storage server software, Infiband switches, PDU's and ILOM interfaces. Update configuration management database (CMDB) with patch details.
- Wherever possible, perform updates in a rolling fashion (one component at a time) to ensure continuous availability and minimize downtime for high-availability applications.
- Address and resolve any issues or failures that arise during the patching process, coordinating with Oracle Support (My Oracle Support - MOS) as needed.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine patching tasks using scripting languages (Shell, Python, Ansible) to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- ensure comprehensive planning, testing, scheduling, and application of patches and updates across all software layers of the Exadata system.
- Review Oracle's quarterly bundle patches and monthly security updates to identify relevant fixes and new features.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the Exadata environment, configurations, and patching procedures.
- Define patch calendars, maintenance windows, and blackout schedules.
- Give walkthroughs to App teams and secure approvals.
