We have been retained by India’s largest and one of Asia’s most reputed integrated healthcare providers.
The Group is setting up a new hospital in Gurugram and is looking for an accomplished Medical Director to spearhead clinical leadership and governance.
Role Overview
The Medical Director will provide overall clinical leadership for the upcoming Hospital in Gurugram. This is a pivotal role responsible for establishing clinical governance frameworks, building high-quality medical teams, ensuring patient safety, and driving clinical excellence from pre-launch through steady-state operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Governance
- Provide strategic leadership to all clinical departments, ensuring adherence to the organisation's clinical standards and protocols.
- Establish robust clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety frameworks prior to hospital launch.
- Lead clinical accreditation and compliance processes
Pre-Launch & Commissioning
- Play a key role in hospital commissioning, including clinical readiness, SOP development, equipment planning, and service line activation.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and credentialing of doctors and clinical leaders across specialties.
- Define clinical pathways, treatment protocols, and outcome benchmarks aligned with the best practices.
Medical Staff Management
- Oversee performance, credentialing, privileging, and continuous development of medical staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, ethics, clinical excellence, and evidence-based practice.
- Act as the principal medical representative for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
Quality, Safety & Patient Experience
- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and ethical medical practice.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, infection control, mortality & morbidity reviews, and patient feedback.
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across departments.
Stakeholder & Academic Engagement
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, insurers, key opinion leaders, and academic institutions.
- Promote clinical research, teaching, and academic excellence where applicable.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in a clinical specialty
- Additional qualifications in Hospital Administration / Healthcare Management preferred
Experience
- Minimum 18–22 years of clinical experience, with significant leadership exposure
- Prior experience as Medical Director / Clinical Head / Senior Medical Administrator
- Experience in commissioning or scaling a hospital is strongly preferred
Key Competencies
- Strong clinical credibility and leadership presence
- Deep understanding of hospital operations and quality systems
- Ability to build teams and manage change in a greenfield environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and decision-making skills
