Role Summary
The Accounts Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations and statutory compliance of the organization. This role ensures accurate books of accounts, timely closing, compliance with applicable laws, and coordination with auditors and internal stakeholders across branches.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
• Ensure timely posting of entries, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
• Oversee invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and ledger reconciliations.
• Monitor customer outstanding and ageing reports; ensure timely follow-ups.
• Resolve discrepancies related to customer and vendor accounts.
Statutory Compliance & Audit
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Prepare and review statutory returns and filings within timelines.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Support internal and statutory audits and ensure closure of audit observations.
ERP & Process Control
• Ensure accurate accounting through ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally or equivalent).
• Strengthen accounting controls and SOP adherence across branches.
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field (CA / CMA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in Accounts, preferably from CA-Firm, or Logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and statutory compliance.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Logisys or equivalent.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting reports.
