Overview: Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid.
Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga’a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, simulation and exercise support, aviation flight logistics, and unmanned aerial vehicle support.
Summary: The Advance Construction Mechanic Instructor will support the Naval Construction Training Center in Gulfport, MS. Instructor personnel are designated by the command for the Advanced Construction Mechanic Schools.
Responsibilities- Provide advanced instruction on disassembling, cleaning, repairing, adjusting, and assembling standard transmissions, transfer cases, power take-off units, drive shafts, differentials, front drive axels, track-chains, pivot brakes, final drives, sprockets, idlers, rollers, and track pads.
- Instruct on constructing and operating hydraulic systems, assembling hoses, testing pressures, troubleshooting, and testing electrohydraulic valves.
- Teach troubleshooting and analyzing diesel fuel system malfunctions, adjusting fuel system components, and performing tests and repairs.
- Record and evaluate compression readings, disassemble and inspect fuel system components, and perform repairs.
- Test, diagnose, and repair batteries, electrical systems, starting and charging systems on various equipment.
- Provide advanced training in diagnostic procedures for military and commercial vehicles using various diagnostic equipment.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Skilled in troubleshooting, tune-up, and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines, automotive and construction equipment, including electrical and fuel systems.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of construction electrician experience; ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
