Responsibilities
Gulfport Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility): Gulfport Behavioral Health System is a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services.
Position Summary:
Join the GBHS nursing leadership team where the Nursing Supervisor (RN) is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards of care, mental health practices, hospital policy, goals and objectives. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the management of nursing resources of an assigned program and supervising nursing staff to ensure a high level of patient care.
Opportunities to work with various patient populations including children, adolescents and adults. The position is Monday - Friday day shift (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.); may include weekends.
Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in psychiatric nursing with demonstrated leadership and management skills. Prior experience may include supervisory roles such as charge nurse.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of the Joint Commission, HCFA, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements. CPR certification and successful completion of training in physical restraint training (CPI) within 90 days of employment.
