Responsibilities
Part‑time Weekend Mental Health Technician (MHT) at Gulfport Behavioral Health System, a 90‑bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services. Work 8‑hour shifts 3‑11 p m Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Position SummaryFunctions as an active part of the nursing treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in age from children through geriatrics under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree in social work, recreational therapy or related therapeutic discipline preferred.
- One year of related experience in psychiatric patient care with knowledge of mental illness techniques.
- Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
- Pre‑employment online assessment
- CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training (certifications obtainable during orientation)
