Position: Engineering Technician with Security Clearance
Position Description & Qualifications Supports the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO) in technical roles to integrate, assemble, machine components, perform minor welding, and test unmanned maritime systems and ancillary equipment such as unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV), launch and recovery devices, and support containers. This includes mechanical fabrication/assembly, electrical wiring/connections, and testing systems in land and marine based environments. Travel may be required for undetermined durations based on customer requirements.

This position will report to NAVO facilities located at Stennis Space Center, MS. This mid-level position has great potential for growth into more responsibility and senior roles within an expanding work team. In this role, you will:
* Must possess a high level of proficiency in the majority of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic maintenance, fabrication and assembly.
* Must have familiarity with operating basic mechanical hand and power tools such as wrenches, ratchets, drill-presses, impact drivers, tap and die sets, and measurement equipment such as tape measures and calipers.

Experience with CNC machine operation and welding is preferred.
* Must have the ability to efficiently troubleshoot mechanical problems within common systems in order to identify faulty components and perform replacements to meet mission critical deadlines.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to assist with component installation and removal.
* Must be able to operate pallet jacks, electronic stackers, and forklifts to move systems and components.
* Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Must be continuously flexible to changing requirements. To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Must be eligible to obtain Secret interim clearance.

* U.S. Citizenship required.

* High School Diploma.
* 2+ years of directly related experience.
* Experience in 3D printing and engineering software is preferred (AutoCAD, Solid Works).
* Proficiency in key Microsoft Office applications is required to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Must be able to support land and marine based testing for partial travel up to 10% of the time. Additional desired experience and skills:
* Background in DOD contracting is preferred.
