Job Summary:

A Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to deliver an excellent Guest experience while evaluating guest room and public areas for property cleanliness and quality control. He/she can help in setting department targets and objectives in absence of the Executive Housekeeper and assisting his/her direct supervisor in all areas of the housekeeping department.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee housekeeping operations in the hskp manager absence
  • Inspect assigned rooms and ensure they are cleaned to standards
  • Oversee Laundry Operations
  • Ensure everyone in the department is trained and using Quore on a daily basis
  • Operate within departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls and well managed schedules
  • Inspect, regularly, all fixtures, fittings, and appliances to ensure compliance to standards and take action as necessary to conform to standard
  • Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the Housekeeping/Laundry Team with an emphasis on training and teamwork
  • Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and amenities
  • Maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers
  • Ensure staffing levels cover business demands
  • Ensure ongoing training
  • Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Recruit, manage, train and develop the Housekeeping/Laundry team
  • Complete linen inventory for the hotel
  • Maintains data and information for property management systems
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary
  • Be a Brand Ambassador of A&R’s Culture, Mission and Values
Required Skills and Experience
  • At least 1 years of experience in housekeeping/laundry and previous experience of managing a department and or related experience
  • Prior successful performance as a Housekeeper
  • A high school certificate or equivalent
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent grooming standards
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Entry level, with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational, budget management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
Other Skills Required
  • Physical:
    Must be able to stand for periods of time; ability to lift to 25 lbs.; may require frequent bending, stooping and kneeling
  • Mathematical:
    Must be able to use basic mathematical techniques including percentages and ratios
