Technical Lead, Software Development, Software Engineer

Base pay range

Tech Lead | Guildford | £70,000–£80,000 + bonus

As Tech Lead, you’ll be responsible for setting technical direction, supporting delivery, and raising engineering standards across a cross‑functional squad.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning the technical vision and architecture for a business‑critical SaaS product
• Partnering closely with Product to shape the roadmap and balance technical priorities with commercial needs
• Leading, mentoring, and line‑managing software engineers within a multidisciplinary team
• Remaining hands‑on, contributing high‑quality C#/.NET code across backend and frontend services
• Championing clean code, scalable architecture, and engineering best practices across the SDLC
• Producing clear technical documentation and architectural designs
• Collaborating with Dev Ops and platform teams to ensure systems are reliable, observable, and scalable
• Driving continuous improvement in tooling, processes, and ways of working

You’ll likely bring:

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Engineering Manager in a SaaS environment
• Strong background in C#/.NET (modern versions preferred) and SQL Server
• Solid experience with system design, architecture, and documenting technical decisions
• Full‑stack exposure, with frontend experience (Blazor or similar frameworks advantageous)
• Hands‑on experience with Azure (e.g. AKS, messaging/event‑driven systems, serverless, data services)
• Experience building and supporting scalable, multi‑tenant SaaS platforms
• Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and influence engineers at different levels
• Experience working in regulated or compliance‑heavy environments, or scaling SaaS products (desirable)

• Salary of up to £80k DOE plus performance based bonus
