Service Engineer

For over 20 years Howlett Associates Water Treatment Ltd now proudly part of Severn Trent Services, has been providing excellent service to our customers with an extensive in house range of services and products delivered by a technical and experienced team that operate across the whole of the U.K, working with a variety of building services and industries to make water safe and protect from bacteria, scale, corrosion and sludge.

In the role a Service Engineer you will be required to carry out the business of the company at the customer’s premises in a polite, efficient, technically accurate and health‑and‑safety‑conscious manner. You will notify the customer of any defects or inconsistencies identified while performing company business, and ensure that all customer requirements are observed while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism at all times.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be a well‑presented and confident communicator who is able to carry out the company’s field activities independently. You should be comfortable working unsupervised, conducting all tasks in a professional, compliant and technically correct manner. Your ability to represent the company positively at customer sites is essential, as is demonstrating confidence in your own skills and judgement.

To perform effectively, you will bring a strong set of key competencies. These include excellent interpersonal skills and sound knowledge of water softener servicing and installation. You will also possess strong problem‑solving abilities and a solid understanding of ACOP L8 procedures. Practical abilities such as pipe‑fitting and plumbing will be important, as well as familiarity with general water treatment dosage and control equipment, including systems such as cooling towers and chlorine dioxide units.

A thorough understanding of relevant health and safety procedures, along with the ability to carry out test procedures appropriate to the task at hand, is also required.
