Electrical Heating Installation Engineer
Role Purpose
The Electrical Heating Installation Engineer is responsible for carrying out electrical installation works associated with new electric heating systems, including all controls and associated wiring working in Guildford.
The role requires strong knowledge of S and Y plan wiring to fault-find existing installations and to alter or install new wiring where required. The engineer will ensure all works are completed safely, compliantly, and in accordance with BS 7671, producing the relevant certification and reports.
Key Responsibilities
* Install electrical wiring for new electric heating systems, including controls, in line with BS 7671
* Alter, upgrade, or replace existing wiring to support new heating installations
* Diagnose and fault-find existing heating control wiring, including S and Y plan systems
* Identify and rectify faults in electrical wiring and associated heating components such as pumps and valves
* Produce Electrical Minor Works Certificates in accordance with regulatory and company standards
* Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner and in full compliance with company Health & Safety policies
* Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times
* Complete accurate electronic reports and documentation using company systems
* Keep up to date with changes to electrical regulations, standards, and industry best practice
* Communicate effectively with management, administration teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth job delivery
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience installing and modifying electrical wiring for heating systems
* Strong knowledge of current UK heating systems and their associated wiring layouts
* Ability to fault-find electrical and heating control systems efficiently
* Good IT skills to complete electronic certification and reports
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Flexible, organised, and able to manage workload effectively
Essential Qualifications
* City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
* City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* Full UK Driving Licence
