• Management and daily delivery of health services including change management in the implementation of service development strategies.
• Work with the HJS DDO South and Health & Justice Service Directors to ensure that the strategic direction is effectively implemented at operational level.
• Lead the development of future plans, standards and systems for secure settings health services, working collaboratively with the Local Area NHSE Commissioner Team, PHE, the Prison Governor and the Prison Leadership Team.
• Deputise for the HJS DDO South where appropriate.
• Responsible for the healthcare budgets and ensure services are delivered according to the commissioned requirements – managing the contracts in place with relevant sub‑contracted services.
• Identify and participate in the tendering for new business opportunities.
• Deliver and prepare robust financial management in line with Service, Divisional and Trust targets, including realistic Cost Improvements Programmes (CIP).
• As a member of the Senior Management team, contribute to the establishment of new services that meet national and local requirements.
• Ensure staffing levels and skill mix fully and effectively meet the needs of the service within financial constraints.
• Chair panels (disciplinary, grievances, etc.) within the service area and elsewhere in CNWL as requested.
• Investigate complaints and liaise with service users/carers.
