Admissions Coordinator (12 Month Maternity Cover) B5
We currently require cover for our Admissions Booking Coordinator within our busy General Surgery department at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford.
This is a full-time role and you will provide a comprehensive and quality service to Consultants, CNS's and Speciality Managers in the management of RTT, cancer waiting lists and the planning of operating lists.
Required Skills- Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
- Ability to cope well under pressure and multi-task.
- Competency to manage their own workload.
- Ability to understand medical terminology.
- Working as part of a friendly & motivated multidisciplinary team.
- Socioable working hours (Mon - Fri).
- Gaining knowledge and experience in the management of elective and cancer pathways.
The Admissions Coordinator manages the elective admissions for their specialties on behalf of Consultants and their teams.

Job responsibilitiesManage and organise Consultant waiting lists, identify problems, deal with them on own initiative and strategically plan own workload. The Admissions Coordinator holds a key role in the achievement of Government and Trust targets and enabling financial balance for the organisation. The post holder will take an active role in the ongoing implementation of Electronic Patient Records to ensure full benefits realisation.
Participate as a team member in the smooth day to day operational management of the Admissions Department.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- NVQ3 Administration or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a hospital environment or dealing with patients/customers.
- Minimum of 1 year experience managing and organising own workload.
- Experience with in an environment undergoing change
- Ability to make decisions autonomously, when required, on difficult issues, working to tight and often challenging timescales.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate keyboard skills and/or any relevant IT systems applicable to the applicant.
