The role combines high-quality compliance with meaningful advisory work, giving exposure to complex technical issues and commercially driven client conversations. The role You'll be responsible for the delivery and quality of corporate tax services across your client portfolio, acting as a trusted adviser and a key point of contact within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the end-to-end corporate tax compliance process, including tax accounting Undertaking detailed technical research and responding to complex ad-hoc queries Identifying and developing advisory opportunities within your client base Supervising, reviewing and mentoring junior team members Advising on a broad range of technical areas, including capital allowances, R&D tax relief, transfer pricing, Substantial Shareholdings Exemption, Controlled Foreign Companies, Corporate Interest Restriction, withholding tax and Double Taxation Relief You'll work closely with specialist colleagues where needed, with genuine collaboration rather than siloed working.
There is clear scope to develop a niche, whether that's a technical specialism, sector focus, or involvement with creative sector clients. The role also includes exposure to one-off advisory projects across multiple tax disciplines. The team and clients The Corporate Tax team advises businesses across manufacturing, technology, retail, recruitment, financial services, hospitality and property. Clients range from owner-managed businesses to large, complex listed groups, offering variety in both technical complexity and commercial context.
About you This role would suit someone who wants responsibility, autonomy and long-term progression. You'll ideally have: ACA and/or CTA qualification Several years' post-qualification experience in UK corporate tax Strong technical skills with the ability to provide practical, commercial advice Good project management skills and ownership of deadlines and quality Confidence dealing directly with clients and building long-term relationships An interest in coaching and developing junior team members A collaborative approach to working across teams
