Learning Support Worker (LSW)

The Role:

As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop their independence, and achieve their full potential. You'll work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support, both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.

  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.

  • Help to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Support students with their social, emotional, and communication development.

  • Assist with the implementation of individualised learning plans.

  • Contribute to student progress monitoring and reporting.

  • Participate in school training and professional development opportunities.

About You:

  • A minimum of 6 months of experience working with children or young people in an educational or support capacity.

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people's learning and development.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.

  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

  • A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to our location and the potential for off-site activities.

  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
