About the Exams Manager Role
We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Exams Manager to join our Surrey team and play a key role in shaping the educational outcomes of students across our Surrey colleges.
In this role, you will lead and manage a team of Examinations Officers and Exams Invigilators, ensuring the effective delivery of all examination processes across Guildford College, Merrist Wood College, and Farnham College. You will oversee the full examinations lifecycle, from liaising with faculties and registering students with awarding bodies, to exam entries, exam delivery, results processing, and the provision of accurate examination data.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 37 hours per week, with a start date of 30 March 2026. The role requires regular travel between our Surrey sites.
Salary: £46,539 per annum

What you need to be a successful Exams Manager at Activate Learning?To be successful in this role, you will bring strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams across multiple sites. Management experience within an educational environment is desirable, as is a strong understanding of examination administration.
About YouThe role requires strong IT, communication, and customer service skills to support effective collaboration with students, staff, and external awarding bodies, alongside a proactive and approachable approach to managing daily systems, procedures, and student engagement.
The exams manager position would suit an experienced Examinations Officer or Examinations Coordinator seeking the next step in their career, or a manager with experience in education looking to develop their skills in a new and rewarding area.
- Experience and confidence in using large databases
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- The ability to prioritise tasks and manage a varied workload
- Management or supervisory experience within an educational setting (desirable)
- Experience working in an examinations office, administering academic, vocational, and professional qualifications (desirable)
