Position: Bookkeeper (Credit Control & Payroll)

Bookkeeper (Credit Control & Payroll)

Are you a detail‑driven Bookkeeper with strong credit control and payroll experience? Do you enjoy taking ownership of finance processes in a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment? If so we would love to hear from you!

Location: Guildford - Free parking on site +Hybrid working available!

Salary: £35,000 Plus 25 days holiday +BH, Pension scheme, Private Medical Insurance, Life assurance, Benefits platform, Quarterly events, Team Outings, Birthday off & So much more!!!

Hours: Full‑time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Friday 4:00 PM finish)

The Role

Joining a dynamic and supportive organisation in Guildford, you will play a key role in managing the day‑to‑day finance operations. This is a hands‑on role combining payroll processing, credit control, and accounting duties, ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, organisation, and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process weekly and monthly timesheets accurately and on time
  • Manage credit control activities, including invoicing, payment follow‑ups, and payment allocation
  • Communicate effectively with contractors and clients via phone and email
  • Post invoices, staff expenses, bank transactions, and related accounting entries
  • Ensure PAYE processes are compliant and up to date
  • Identify and resolve issues within payroll or finance processes proactively
  • Support the continuous improvement of systems and workflows
Experience & Skills Required
  • Proven experience in a Bookkeeping, Payroll, or Accounts role
  • Strong credit control experience
  • Experience using Sage 50 or a similar accounting system
  • Payroll processing experience including timesheets
  • Good working knowledge of PAYE
  • Confident communicator with clients and contractors
