* Description:
**** Purpose and Impact
** At Sleeman Breweries, quality and innovation drive everything we do. In this role, you will lead national quality and food safety standards across beer and RTD manufacturing to protect product integrity and minimize risk. You will oversee quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while managing a team of three, including Consumer Relations and Microbiology specialists.
** Key Responsibilities
**** Quality Strategy and Leadership
*** Define and implement the corporate quality strategy to optimize manufacturing processes and achieve business objectives.
* Develop and lead the national food safety strategy, ensuring each facility maintains a compliant food safety plan.
* Align short- and long-term goals with quality strategies; prepare annual budgets and business plans.
* Communicate quality performance and issues to senior management and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
** Systems, Standards, and Compliance
*** Establish and maintain quality assurance procedures and standards programs across all breweries and contract producers.
* Oversee the company’s quality and food safety management systems, ensuring documentation integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement.
* Lead the development and enhancement of quality audit processes.
* Review product labels to ensure regulatory compliance
* Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all requirements, including recall and HACCP processes.
** Performance Monitoring and Risk Management
*** Analyze quality metrics to identify trends and mitigate risks; provide quarterly reports to the National Management Team.
* Manage consumer complaint processes and ensure timely resolution.
* Conduct site visits with Regional QA Managers to assess compliance and performance against standards.
** Team Development and Continuous Improvement
*** Provide leadership and coaching to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and addressing performance gaps.
* Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce complexity.
* Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices and create annual development plans for self and team.
* Provide technical advice/ support to the breweries and regional QA teams as required (e.g., non-conforming product situations, withdrawal/recall recommendations, policy implementation/changes, audit corrective actions, identification and escalation of significant QA issues)
** Skills and Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s degree in science or related discipline.
* Minimum 7 years of food manufacturing experience, preferably in a brewery environment, with at least 3 years in a management role.
