Job Overview:

With safety as our guiding principle, we perform critical process cleaning in an industrial setting. Water Blasters are responsible for participating in lockout/tagout and operating high pressure (up to 40,000 psi) water blasting and mowing equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, blasting of vehicle dollies, skids, and/or carriers; grate blasting; pressure washing structural steel and holding tanks. Water Blasters are required to wear extensive PPE including metatarsal boots, rain suit, shin guards, hard hat, safety glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, anti-vibration gloves, ear plugs, and earmuffs (all provided by Mac Lellan).

Water Blasting candidates go through extensive equipment and use training prior to blasting. Water Blasters will participate in lockout/tagout; climb ladders; hang plastic; hook up equipment; conduct pre and post operational inspections. All Water Blasters will be required to perform other cleaning activities as needed to complete the work and meet customer requirements, including, but not limited to shot blasting and jig inspection.

Necessary Skills:

  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and bend throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely work in a high paced industrial environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow both written & oral instructions.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions and/or escalate to supervision when confronted with safety and/or production issues that require immediate action.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Necessary Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work variable shifts including weekends.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Must be able to hold and operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time.
  • This is a physically demanding job – must be able to work in hot, damp, and noisy environments, wear heavy PPE, climb stairs, push equipment, stand/walk for extended periods of time and grasp and/or grip tools/equipment.
