Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Manager, Supply Chain to support our Stores, Logistics and Purchasing team for the Wellington Health Care Alliance (WHCA) which includes Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Louise Marshall Hospital and Palmerston and District Hospital. This position would require the individual to be onsite, within the hospital five days per week, primarily being located at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Vice President, In-Hospital Logistics, the Manager, Supply Chain will be responsible for providing strategic management and direct supervision of internal hospital supply chain functions, including Stores, Logistics and Purchasing. This individual collaborates with MMC and hospital leaders, ensuring strategic goals and objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities and Skills Supply Chain Management
  • Strategic management of all supply chain functions related to the site (Stores, Logistics, Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, Distribution, and Purchasing)
  • Has full oversight of Just-In-Time (Stockless) supply chain and hospital relationship with the 3PL provider.
  • Ensures all supply chain strategies and operations are aligned with the MMC and hospital values.
  • Builds a strong relationship with Hospital stakeholders to ensure MMC alignment with the hospital initiatives.
  • Ensures all customer service levels and KPI's are maintained at a high level and that information is presented at monthly/quarterly reviews.
  • Manages the escalation and follow up on critical backorders, recalls and other disruptions
  • Ensure the annual Par-Review of JIT department supply carts is completed.
  • Ensure inventory systems are kept up to date and a high level of accuracy is achieved.
  • Oversee cycle counting and year-end inventory process
  • Ensure alignment of pandemic supply strategy with MMC and the Hospital.
  • Acts as a primary logistics contact and problem solver for emergencies, hospital codes, and pandemic response.
  • Leads weekly huddles with in-hospital teams to ensure customer/hospital priorities are being met.
Human Resources Management
  • Complies with all MMC and WHCA Human Resources protocols and all regulatory bodies requirements, the Collective Agreement and accrediting agencies.
  • Recruits, coaches, mentors, evaluates, and manages the performance and development of staff.
  • Participates in Human Resource planning process, discipline and labour management activities.
  • Oversees hospital payroll and procedures, and approves where required.
Leadership and Managerial
  • Demonstrates and promotes MMC and WHCA culture, values and management philosophy.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with customers and employees.
  • Coaches/mentors the in-hospital teams (Storekeepers, Shipper/Receivers, and Buyers).
  • Sets high standards of excellence, leading by example, clarifying roles and responsibilities, providing clear directions and priorities, monitoring and celebrating progress and achievement.
  • Demonstrates a broad understanding of financial management principles to achieve organizational goals.
  • Maintain cost control in accordance with MMC and Hospital budget and participates in the budget process and variance analysis.
  • Knowledge of financial/accounting processes related to inventory.
  • Manage operations budget and inventory of $100k-$1M+
