We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant who thrives on the manufacturing floor, partnering with Industrial Engineers to validate data rather than just reporting it. - Product Costing & Analysis: manage the collection and analysis of product costing, part profitability, and inventory valuation.
- Operational Partnership: collaborate with Industrial Engineers and Operations leadership; audit BOMs against actual floor performance to ensure data integrity.
- Data Detective Work: use advanced Excel skills to digest large volumes of data (sales mix, volume, profitability) and discern operational sense.
- Reporting & Compliance: lead complex financial reporting, variance analysis, and month/quarter/year‑end close activities.
- Audit Support: act as a key liaison for external auditors (Deloitte) and internal corporate audits (SOX/Government).
- Forecasting: support department leaders through budget and forecasting cycles with actionable financial insights.
- Education:
CPA Designation required (late‑stage CPA candidates or international designations considered with relevant experience). - Experience:
minimum 2+ years of manufacturing accounting experience (automotive industry experience highly preferred). - Technical Mastery: outstanding in Excel (Pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUPs, managing large datasets);
Power BI or SQL is an asset, general ERP savvy required. - Soft Skills:
emotional intelligence to challenge numbers, ask right questions, thrive in deadline‑driven environment.
