Engineer - Automation

Responsibilities

• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, Robots, Vision Systems, and other control devices
• Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to identify and resolve issues
• Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering and quality to implement process changes and ensure seamless integration
• Utilize data analysis techniques to identify trends, troubleshoot issues and make data‑driven decisions to optimize manufacturing processes
• Lead root‑cause analysis investigations to address process deviations, quality issues and equipment failures
• Day‑to‑day troubleshooting of equipment or production process complaints and concerns
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on automation systems and equipment
• Assist in training junior automation technicians

• A post‑secondary Engineering degree, diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with automated equipment
• PLC, HMI, & Servo programming experience with Allen‑Bradley hardware
• Robot programming (ABB, Fanuc)
• Vision programming (Cognex & Keyence)
• Knowledge of industrial networks
• Strong programming, mechanical and electrical problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
