2D Drafter – Construction Design

Are you a detail-oriented drafter who enjoys turning concepts into real-world structures? We are looking for a 2D Drafter to join our growing team in Columbus, NE, where you will play a key role in bringing construction projects from early concept to final construction documents.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with project teams, and seeing their designs come to life in the field. You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to develop accurate drawings that support successful project delivery.

What You’ll Do

- Create and develop 2D construction drawings including site plans, floor plans, elevations, and structural details
- Translate conceptual sketches and project requirements into clear construction documents
- Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and field teams to ensure designs meet project needs
- Update drawings and details throughout the design and construction process
- Maintain drafting libraries, standard details, and drawing templates
- Support multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards

What We’re Looking For

- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret sketches, concepts, and project requirements into technical drawings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
