Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions- Manage department human resources by: coordinating and assisting with the interviewing/hiring process; determining qualifications, competence and performance expectations; coordinating and conducting disciplinary actions; coordinating and conducting reviews, one-on-one, and recognition activities; implementing and monitoring staffing plans; validating staff competencies; ensuring appropriate staffing; not to exceed allocations; maintain productivity standards; proper labor management oversight and time keeping approval.
- Quality: continuously assess and improve the department's performance by designing operational processes, monitoring performance through data, analyzing the data, implementing sustainable performance improvements; supporting department PI projects and participating in multi-disciplinary inter-departmental PI projects and activities; ensure quality is up to Well Star Health System standards; facility inspections; round for compliance with TJC, DOT, OSHA & state and local fire regulations.
- Leadership: provide strong support and effective leadership by coordinating and integrating services within the department, with other departments and with the hospital's primary function while managing the day to day activities of the EVS team; information systems and data management for department operations and performance improvement; support operational processes and policies; monitor and analyze performance through training, implementing sustainable performance improvement;
support department PI projects and participate in multi-disciplinary/inter-departmental projects and activities; represent department in hospital multidisciplinary meetings and activities; provide proper and timely responses to customers; assist in budget development and oversight not exceeding budget allowances. - Perform other duties as assigned. Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma;
Other or GED;
Other-Preferred
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Additional Licensing and Certification Required Minimum Experience- Minimum 5 years of leadership in Environmental services in a healthcare, hospitality or commercial environment.
- Management/supervisory skills; knowledge of healthcare cleaning procedures, floor care and hazardous waste procedures; computer knowledge and skills; must have excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse work group including other departments;
- Ability to lead and train employees;
- Strong verbal, listening, written communication skills;
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others;
- Ability to demonstrate compliance with all organizational/department rules/regulations;
- Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed;
- Demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service;
- Depth of practical experience in both technical and non-technical training;
- Present and deliver presentations and crucial conversations to team members and other departments as needed.
