Wellstar Columbia County Hospital is a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility opening in Fall 2026 in Grovetown, Georgia, just outside Augusta. This is an exciting opportunity to join an inaugural team shaping the future of surgical services in a cutting-edge environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to join our dynamic surgical team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for full-scope general surgery and be experienced in managing trauma cases. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of surgical care services from the ground up, working alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to clinical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive general surgery care, including elective, emergency, and trauma surgery.
  • Manage acute trauma patients in collaboration with the trauma and critical care teams.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of surgical service lines and operating room workflows.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical teams to establish best practices and protocols.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree with Board Certification or Eligibility in General Surgery.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and patient-focused environment.
