As a Student Services Coordinator, you will help students achieve personal fulfillment by providing services to support personal, educational, and occupational life plans. You will inspire and motivate young learners, putting students first in education, and deliver on our promise of Strong Minds, Good Hearts™.
Responsibilities- Prepares for and conduct parent and student conferencing according to school policy.
- Provide student instruction in modalities instituted by school and assigned program, including individual or group direct synchronous instruction, learning support, life skills support, itinerant support, resource room support, co‑teaching, writing lesson plans, telephone conferencing and instruction, parent learning opportunities.
- Collect data and appropriate work samples.
- Plan and conduct appointments with parents as needed.
- Assist regular education teachers with specially designed instruction when necessary.
- Participate in monthly outings encouraged.
- Provide support for Special Education student achievement in the general class through training teachers and assisting with implementation of school inclusion plans.
- Arrange for and assist with training for inclusionary practices.
- Act as informational liaison for inclusion as appropriate.
- Assist with planning for classroom and testing accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Model strategies for inclusionary practices.
- Provide assistance with developing and adapting curriculum materials and educational practices to meet the needs of students and teachers.
- Assist students in evaluating aptitudes and abilities through teacher comments, standardized test scores, and other data; work with students in evolving educational and career plans.
- Provide individual counseling sessions for assigned students regarding personal needs affecting school performance and educational/career plans.
- Provide small and large group counseling sessions as needed.
- Assist students with course selections and scheduling; work to prevent drop‑outs and assist those who do in finding alternative programs.
- Assist with enrollment in summer school programs to address deficiencies.
- Participate in follow‑up studies of former students to improve services and evaluate effectiveness.
- Provide emergency support during crises.
- Provide college financial aid/scholarship resources and assist with college selection.
- Serve as a consultant to faculty on guidance services matters.
- Confere with staff regarding students with problems or special needs.
- Serve as a resource person for administration in matters related to students and guidance services; provide reports and data as requested.
- Provide student orientation relating to school procedures, curriculum, and extra‑curricular opportunities.
- Participate in planning and implementing transition programs between grade levels or to post‑secondary education.
- Serve as a resource for information regarding the educational program, activities, and services of the school.
- Supervise maintenance of cumulative records for assigned students per state, federal, and CSUSA policies.
- Provide information and prepare recommendations to colleges for admissions, scholarships, employers, agencies.
- Maintain counseling records (summary, log) regarding conferences or sessions with assigned students.
- Assist in administration of state‑mandated and CSUSA assessment programs.
- Review and interpret assessment results for counseling purposes.
- Contribute to evaluation of current curriculum offerings.
- Assist in developing and implementing an evaluation plan for the guidance program.
