Job Description

The Lab Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products by adhering to test methods and maintaining documentation of all formulation processes. This position requires the ability to function under sustained supervision and the capability to write simple reports summarizing procedures and results.

Responsibilities

* Perform laboratory tests or other laboratory work using conventional and computerized machines and work aids.

* Conduct laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards.

* Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition.

* Set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.

* Comply with test methods according to set standards.

* Document all formulation processes.

* Function with sustained supervision and write simple reports outlining procedures used and results obtained.

* Complete proper forms and documents when necessary.

* Attend quality, safety, technical meetings, and seminars as necessary.

* Comply with all safety and security regulations and maintain a clean work area.

* Communicate with internal as well as external customers.

* Manage work in accordance with timeline goals.

* Adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times.

* Perform chemistry-based testing.

Essential Skills

* Proficiency in viscosity, pH, wet chemistry, chemistry, laboratory, and paint testing.

* Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry, or a science degree with paint lab experience.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Candidates must not be color blind.

* Consideration given to candidates with associate degrees or no degree with previous lab experience.

Work Environment

The position operates on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The work environment is a laboratory setting which can be dusty or dirty  coat, safety shoes, and protective eyewear will be provided

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grove City, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
