Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Our client, a growing manufacturer, is looking for a Controller who is passionate about leading and developing a team of accountants. This role will report directly to the CFO and has exposure to the executive team.

• Controller Supervisory Responsibilities: The Controller manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and month-end close preparation.
• Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
• Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
• Controller Responsibilities: The Controller establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
• Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
• Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

• Proficient in accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years or more of accounting leadership experience required.
• Previous Controller experience or 5+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager in a manufacturing environment.
• CPA preferred, but not required.
• Public accounting experience preferred, but not required.
