Overview
As Electric Boat's backlog and work throughput increase, it becomes increasingly more imperative that the Electric Boat Information Technology (EBIT) organization work the right projects, at the right time, and within schedule and budget in order to support our growing business needs. In support of this goal, the EBIT department has established the EBIT Project Management Office (PMO) that is responsible for the management of projects across all of EBIT.
EBITPMO Responsibilities
- Portfolio Planning which includes categorizing projects, evaluating projects, prioritizing projects, balancing project portfolios/programs, selecting the projects to fund, determining funding strategies, and authorizing selected projects.
- Providing guidance for project management processes and best practices for EBIT.
- Performance monitoring of all EBIT projects which involves regular project progress updates, as well as monitoring and analysis of project metrics.
- Strategic Planning and alignment with EB business functional areas' critical business needs.
- Project and Program management for major IT programs such as Integrated Product Development Environment (IPDE), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Facilities/Real Estate.
- Establishing and maintaining EBIT PMO Standard Operating Procedures
- Overseeing IT Program and Portfolio Management including Project In-Take Processes
- Overseeing Financial Management for IT PMO and EBIT
- Monitoring Metrics
- Driving IT project performance and delivery
- EBIT PMO Resource Management
- Stakeholder Communication
- Risk Management
- Continuous Process Improvement
- Training and Development
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 5+ years of project management experience including project schedule development, budget oversight, change management, and status reporting.
- 5+ years leading multiple concurrent projects and dependencies.
Preferred:
- 5+ years in a leadership role managing large-scale, enterprise IT applications (software development) and/or IT infrastructure (datacenters, networking, security, cybersecurity) projects and/or programs.
- Must have strong problem solving, analytical, and conflict resolution skills
- Must have proven ability to drive teams while being results focused
- Must have stakeholder management skills
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have proven project management skills
- Must be capable of influencing leadership, PMO teams, and peers while working alongside and achieving shared goals and objectives
