Tides of Mind Counseling of Connecticut, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Norwich, CT. Optum is a clinician-led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live. As a member of the Optum Behavioral Care Team, youll be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Maintain a positive public relations image with peers, patients, and visitors by presenting a positive, helpful attitude
- Facilitate Medication refills via EHR
- Collect Co-Pays
- Gather data relevant to the patient s age group and individual needs
- Receive and document telephone messages and record requests in the EHR system
- Confirm scheduled appointments and follow up on missed appointments

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience working in a medical office
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Experience working in a behavioral health practice

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
