Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST) – Acquired Brain Injury Program
Location: Groton, CT
Pay: $18/hour
Schedule: Flexible Full-Time & Part-Time opportunities (Day & Evening Shifts)

We’re looking for compassionate and reliable Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST) to join our Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) team in Plainfield, CT. You’ll work one-on-one with individuals, helping them rebuild life skills, gain confidence, and live more independently — all while being part of a mission-driven nonprofit that truly values its team.
What You’ll Do- Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as daily routines, budgeting, cooking, and communication.
- Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization based on each client’s personalized service plan.
- Encourage, guide, and celebrate progress — big and small!
- Be a positive, steady presence as your clients build stronger, more fulfilling lives.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required).
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record.
- Verifiable
Experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI):- 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, OR
- 1 year with a bachelor’s degree.
Choose a shift that fits your life!
- 1st Shift (Part-Time): 8am–4pm.
- 2nd Shift (Full-Time or Part-Time): 3pm to 10pm; 4pm to 10pm.
Starting pay: $18.00/hour
