REGISTERED NURSE - ELECTIVE SURGERY - 36 HOURS WEEKLY - NIGHT SHIFT

Up to $10,000.00
Schedule:
Nights, Three 12‑hour shifts weekly from 7 PM – 7:30 AM. Rotating every other weekend and holiday.
Unit Description
Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 5 East Elective Surgery unit is a 20‑bed unit specializing in post‑operative care. Our patient population typically consists of colon, urology, and gastro masses, cancer diagnoses, and some trauma patient overflow. Our typical nurse‑to‑patient ratio is approximately 5:1. We encourage continuing education and voluntary participation in unit committees, and are willing to train nurses of all levels of experience to be successful in this environment.

- Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
- Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Education/Experience Required
- BSN preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Certifications/Licensures Required
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).
