Corewell Health is offering a $1,500 sign‑on bonus for full‑time positions and $750 for part‑time positions.

About The Unit

A 39‑bed unit, Critical Care Step Down, committed to high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centered care for populations with pulmonary, cardiac, neurological disorders, and post‑operative surgical patients requiring higher nursing care levels. The unit also cares for ventilated tracheostomy patients. All staff receive hospital and nursing orientation, unit‑specific orientation, and core competencies. Our team consists of RNs and NAs; teamwork is critical for a cohesive nursing unit.

Scope of Work

Provide care to patients according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and appropriately document services. Serve as an observer for any patient requiring constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize safety. Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.

Document care in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
  • Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
