Registered Nurse Circulator-Operating Room Days-Grosse Pointe

Position:
Usually, 8 hr. days for approximately 9 days per pay period (every 2 weeks).

Shift: The hours are 6:30am-3pm, no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call.

Cottage, Grosse Pointe.

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator.

Cottage is a 4‑room ambulatory OR with operational times of 7am-4pm. The site covers a wide range of services such as:

• Ortho:
  Sports Medicine, total hips and knees, podiatry and hand.
• Plastics: breast augmentation, breast reduction, liposuction, facelifts and laser surgery.
• Ophthalmology: cataract, retinal and ocular plastic.

The site is open Monday–Friday with no weekend, holiday or call requirement.

Must circulate in the OR and scrub in OR.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of OR experience is required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
• Successful completion of HFMG Pharmacology test.
• Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in the area of specialty.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel.
• Preferred experience in the specialty.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS or ACLS per HFHS policy.
