As a Machinery and Piping Systems Engineer at Conoship International…
You will be responsible for designing and optimizing pipeline systems crucial to our maritime projects.
Often the projects are at the forefront of technology, with a strong focus on emission reduction and sustainability. Besides ship design and engineering, Conoship International is strongly involved in research projects concerning alternative fuels, and sustainable shipping with the aim of using these results in new designs and products. The results of our research have already led to the launch of successful start-ups.
Your main responsibilities:
- Designing one-line piping diagrams such as cooling water, fuel, ballast, natural gas and cargo systems.
- Dimensioning and specifying pipe diameter and thickness.
- Calculating relevant parameters such as capacity, pressure drop, NPSH, heat balance.
- Specifying fittings and instrumentation.
- Managing version control of the design package throughout design and engineering phases.
- Processing installation instructions from component suppliers.
- Specifying necessary components based on specifications and standard regulations and generating procurement information for valves, fittings, and instrumentation.
In addition to the above, you will develop technical specifications, evaluate quotes and ensure compliance through review by Class and customers.
Who are you?
- HBO or MBO education in mechanical engineering (WTB).
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in (shipbuilding) engineering is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Cadmatic software is a plus.
- An understanding of regulations set by Class and Authorities.
- Awareness of technical developments in the field.
- The ability to drive technical advancements and process improvement.
