Are you an experienced project manager with knowledge of ship design and engineering? Do you know how to keep diverse projects running smoothly with your energy and organisational skills? Then we are looking for you as our new Project Manager.

As a Project Manager at Conoship International…

You are the centre between your project team, specialists, management and the client to ensure that ship design projects are delivered on time, within scope and according to quality standards. You are responsible for the complete design and/or engineering process of various vessel types such as General Cargo, Tankers, Dredgers, Offshore vessels, Ro-Ro vessels and/or special. Your knowledge enables you to communicate well with the client on design choices and you dare to make decisions.

Often the projects are at the forefront of technology, with a strong focus on emission reduction and sustainability. Besides ship design and engineering, Conoship International is strongly involved in research projects concerning alternative fuels, and sustainable shipping with the aim of using these results in new designs and products. The results of our research have already led to the launch of successful start-ups.

Your Main responsibilities:

  • You will supervise and manage ship design projects, from initial concept through to detailed design.
  • You collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, goals, and expectations.
  • You develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence to these throughout the project lifecycle.
  • You will coordinate and communicate effectively with multifunctional teams, including designers, engineers, naval architects, and other project stakeholders.
  • You will monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • You will ensure compliance with industry regulations, classification society requirements, and client specifications.
  • You facilitate design reviews, client presentations, and project milestone meetings.
  • You manage project documentation, including contracts, technical specifications, and design deliverables.
  • You provide regular project status updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Who are you?

Please note that only candidates with a valid EU work visa will be considered for this role.

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • You have proven experience as a Project Manager in ship design or maritime engineering industry.
  • You have a good knowledge of naval architecture principles, ship systems and marine engineering concepts.
  • You are stress-resistant and have excellent communication, organisational skills, and collaboration skills.
