Job DescriptionSUMMARY: Responsible for instructing students in appropriate subject area(s) in coordination with current curriculum and within the framework of district and state standards.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement
- Course content, format, structure, and schedule.
- Individualized programs of instruction for students.
- Classroom materials and curriculum.
- Lesson plans and learning activities.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEP) goals, objectives, and transition plans (Special Education Teacher)
- Schedule of staff and meetings in compliance with IEP’s (Special Education Teacher)
- Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one situations.
- Assess strengths and needs of individual students.
- Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students’ assignments and assessments.
- Create a classroom environment which maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise the behavior and wellbeing of students in the classroom and all educational settings, and administer discipline when appropriate.
- Organize and facilitate schedules of students and para educators;
Assist in the supervision and direction of special education para educators (Special Education Teacher) - Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use the data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
- Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
- Communicate students’ progress and needs with parents/guardians and other staff as appropriate.
- Collaborate
- With teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
- With colleagues in team and building‑based meetings and discussion.
- With outside agencies to promote student success (Special Education Teacher)

- Support all WBISD policies, procedures, and expectations.

- The school MTSS process as a teacher and/or specialist and advocate (Title I) as appropriate.
