Position Overview
Due to temporary internal changes an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Community Stroke and Neuro team as a band 6 Physiotherapist on a fixed term basis, approximately one year period (dependent on start date) ending March 28th 2027. This is a community post so you will be seeing patients in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high standard physiotherapy service undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- Make recommendations to the clinical lead/manager of the service for changes to practice by the team, and may lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to development of service protocols.
- Supervise, educate and assess physiotherapy students, assistants and staff grade physiotherapists and provide specialised advice to other health care professionals in the specific clinical area.
- Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice.
- Assess and manage clinical risk within own and delegated patient caseloads.
- Perform advanced physio therapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions; use advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
- Manage own caseload and a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
Regular supervision and support is provided and there is a robust program of in-service training to assist your development into a band 6 role. You will be expected in turn to support and supervise junior staff and students.
On-Call ParticipationOn-call participation is expected as part of this role. (Please indicate on your application you have a full UK driving license)
Band 5-6 DevelopmentIf you do not meet all elements of the band 6 essential criteria there is potential for a developmental band 5-6 post to be offered in line with the trust policy for developmental roles. You would therefore receive close support/supervision from the team lead to complete set objectives in a designated time frame to gain a band 6 role.
