Company Accountant

We are a fast‑growing UK business (small team, multimillion‑pound annual revenue and rapid year‑on‑year growth) seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of our financial operations. The role combines management accounting, financial oversight, and coordination with our external UK accountants who handle statutory filings.

• Maintain day‑to‑day bookkeeping, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable
• Produce monthly management accounts, cashflow reports, and KPI summaries
• Track expenses and spending in real time, ensuring accurate financial records
• Issue customer statements and support invoicing, credit control, and revenue tracking
• Coordinate payroll and prepare data for payslips and monthly submissions
• Prepare VAT workings and liaise with external accountants on VAT and annual returns
• Build and improve internal financial processes suitable for a scaling business
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
• Work with EU‑based colleagues to collect receipts and documentation for UK compliance
• Provide proactive insights into financial performance

• Strong UK accounting experience in an SME environment
• Ability to manage end‑to‑end finance processes independently
• Experience with VAT, payroll coordination, and management accounts
• Strong skills in Xero, Quick Books, or Sage
• Ability to operate in a fast‑growth or multi‑entity environment
• Strong organisational and communication skills
