Overview
Passenger Assistants provide a vital link for children with or without special educational needs enabling them to ensure attendance in education.

We have an exciting opportunity to become a Passenger Assistant for NELC. You will be part of a friendly team who provide an excellent standard of service and support who really make a difference to the lives of children & young people that are eligible for transport provided by our service.
What you will do- Work times are generally arranged around school start and finish times; hours can vary depending on which route you are required to travel on, this could be in the local area or to a neighbouring authority.
- You will be picked up from your home by our driver and returned after each journey.
- You will work closely with children & young people, their parents and carers, showing patience and understanding and be able to communicate with people from all backgrounds, making every journey a positive and enjoyable experience.
- You may have specialist knowledge of working directly with children with special educational needs. You will be polite, courteous and respectful of confidentiality.
- A caring, compassionate, and responsible attitude towards children and young adults is essential.
- A basic knowledge of first aid would be advantageous but is not essential.
- You must live within North East Lincolnshire or be able to make your own way to an agreed pick-up point within 15 minutes travel from the route.
