Wire Technician

Emerald Transportation Solutions is seeking a skilled Wire Technician with a strong automotive wiring background to support the installation of electrical and electronic systems in commercial and specialty vehicles. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with vehicle wiring harnesses and electrical diagnostics. Experience installing automobile camera systems (dash cams, backup cameras, fleet monitoring cameras) is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, route, terminate, and secure automotive wiring and wiring harnesses in vehicles
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools
• Perform clean, professional wire installations following safety and quality standards
• Install and test vehicle electronic components such as cameras, sensors, GPS units, and related accessories
• Perform lift gate installations, including wiring, controls, power connections, and functional testing
• Troubleshoot power, grounding, and signal issues in automotive electrical systems
• Ensure all installations meet company, manufacturer, and industry standards
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, and quality teams to ensure project timelines are met
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive wiring or electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
• Strong understanding of 12V automotive electrical systems
• Experience with crimping, soldering, loom installation, and wire routing
• Attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with lift gate installation on commercial or fleet vehicles
• Experience with commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles, or upfitting
• Electrical or automotive technical certification
• Familiarity with GPS, telematics, or fleet technology installations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for detailed wiring work
